Classics Book Haul

Classics Book Haul

hello friends I’m back with another video first of all let me just say happy Ramadan to all the Muslims I know I said I won’t be buying any more books but let me just explain why I am here with another Classics book haul so I recently went to Islamabad and there is this shop called Saeed book Bank which had an amazing collection of classics so I decided to buy a couple of them I think they are almost 6 in number so I can’t wait to share them all with you let’s just jump right in so the first book which I bought was Emma by Jane Austen in the vintage classics Library Edition it has a basic white spine and I already have Sense and Sensibility in this edition I have read Emma a long time ago it is almost 500 pages long but now I’m going to reread i I already had an addition but I wasn’t very fond of that copy so I’m going to unhaul that one now that I have this gorgeous Edition and I’m very very excited to read it Emma is the story of a young rich and independent girl who has decided not to get married and instead spends her time organizing love affairs of everyone around her so the second book which I bought was wives and daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell in this beautiful vintage red spine Edition I have already read North and South by Gaskell and it is now one of my favorite books ever so I wanted to read more books by her I already owned a copy of Mary Barton which I will read soon and this is also one of her very famous works I have already watched the BBC miniseries which I really enjoyed so I am very excited to read this it is a big book almost 650 pages long but her writing style is very easy for me this is my third Vintage read spine and I am very happy to own this beautiful edition I just love the purple cover I think it’s one of the best covers I’ve ever owned wives and daughters is a story about a young girl called Molly Gibson who is a loyal daughter of a local doctor their peaceful home is turned upside down when he decides to remarry so the next four books which I bought are these penguin popular classics edition by penguin Random House India these were published in 2016 and they are such minimalistic beautiful books I think they are perfect for me so the first one which I bought was hard times by charles dickens i have already read great expectations by him and i am currently reading Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens so I am very excited to have another of his books these additions were also very reasonably priced hard times Dickens shortest novel is a tragic story of Louisa gradgrind who is trapped in a loveless marriage the second book which I got in the same Edition is Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert I think I’m not sure if I am pronouncing that correctly now I have never been able to find a good cover of Madame Bovary it always has a picture of a female so I was so happy to find this minimalistic pink illustration these editions have the same illustration which is by Gaurav Gupta but in different colors and this book is almost three hundred and twenty-five pages long and I am very very excited to own this copy Madame Bovary is a story about a loveless marriage and a desperate attempt which is made by Emma who is the doctor’s wife to seek love and fulfillment outside matrimony the next one which I got is crime and punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky this is the third translated Russian classic which I own and it is almost 500 pages long I have been hearing about this one so much on booktube and I am very very excited to read crime and punishment Crime and Punishment focuses on the mental anguish and moral dilemmas of Raskolnikov an ex-student who kills an unscrupulous person for her cash so the last book which I got was persuasion by Jane Austen I have already read this and persuasion is one of my favorite Austen books I was not happy with the Edition I owned so I unhauled it and I got this gorgeous addition I have started rereading it on audiobooks buzz and I am enjoying it a lot and this is a very short one almost 200 pages long and it is I think the last book which Jane Austen wrote persuasion is the story of Anne Elliot she was 18 years old when she was persuaded to refuse the hand of Frederick now she is 27 years old and Frederick and Anne meet again so these are the four books which I got from penguin Random House of India and I really like the minimalistic design and I think these four look so nice together so these are all the books which I got and I’m so excited to read them I hope you enjoyed this video and if you like book hauls then don’t forget to give this video a huge thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already thank you so much for watching bye

  • Hi! I don't like Jane Austen very much. Instead, I loved Madame Bovary when I read it, Emma can be hateful but her life is so sad, so… empty. I hope you enjoy it 🙂

  • I love how you edited this video! I really liked the summary parts etc 🙂

And you sure picked up some beautiful books!

  • Eid mubarak from Indonesia! ^^
Hi, Can you review what's the differences between the classics edition? I'm planning to collect some classic books and haven't decided which edition to buy.
Wordsworth is really cheap, do you have one?
