Visual Arts Taught by Groundbreaking Mentors

To have someone who is working who has gone
through the journey of you know, going from student to professional, to take a look at
your work and be just like, this is what you need, this the key. And give you that key, and you’re like, oh,
cool, I can use things now, I know where to go. Because I think the worst part about being
a student is not really knowing where to go. That’s the most overwhelming thing, because
there’s so much to learn. So that, I love. It is like a next stage in an evolution of
this live online education. There is more I feel community with the people in
my classes online and interaction than I did in the brick and mortar teaching. The critiques are powerful, they’re individual,
there’s paintovers going on, there’s call outs. You can grab information from the web and
deliver it instantaneously. Especially with the entertainment field, I’m
working in it today, so I know what it is like today, not what it was like 7 or 8 years
ago. When you get someone in such a fast moving
field that’s always evolving and changing, it’s one of the only ways to get the most
current information. When you’re dealing with mentors who are on
the front lines of the vanguard and they’re moving things forward, they’re the ones who
are going to be able to tell you that, look there has been a big change, there has been
a big adjustment and they’re going to be able to change their curriculum very quickly to
match that. I think it is important, because you’re getting
direct feedback from somebody who’s actually working on the field you want to work on. You know I just did a job for so and so, and
so if you want to go in the same market, this is what you do, or what you don’t do. It’s finally connecting the dots between a
lot of broken information that’s out there and putting it together in a succinct package
so that someone can not only learn but they can actually move forward with real intent
and progress. You need a very specialized kind of attention
in order to take that kind of talent and transform it into something that is like professional
quality. There are things that are going to be a little
more difficult and other things that are going to be very facile, but it’s one day at a
time and just, you’re building. That’s it. That’s your life. It just the future, man.
